March 12th - Moroccan & Lebanese - $65/Person - Taste the flavours of the Middle East - Hummas & baba ganoush, shish tawook with zaatar spiced lentils with vegetables and tahini sauce and coconut cake. Chef Paresh Thakkar opened Personal Touch Eatery & Catering in September of 2011. He has been in the restaurant business for 13 years, having worked at Lola’s, Paddy Flaherty’s and two restaurants in Canmore, Alberta. Opening his business gave him the creative freedom to cook unique dishes with global flavours. Thakkar originally went to school at Wilfrid Laurier University to become an accountant. After graduating, he worked in the financial industry and then operated a franchise for three years. While he was using his business skills, he really missed cooking on a daily basis. He decided to go to Culinary School at Fanshawe College in 2006. Chopped Canada featured Thakkar on an episode and was great experience for him. |
