About Us

Born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario, artist Laura Kreviazuk earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the University of Guelph, where she graduated with honours. Following graduation, Laura relocated to Toronto where she co-founded the VSVSVS studio collective and artist run-center. It was in Toronto that Laura began developing her own visual style and language. Now back in her hometown, Laura is dedicated full time to her studio practice, finding inspiration in her industrial surroundings.

In her work, Laura is best known for her exhaustive use of contrast, scale, and gestures. Her work often blurs the line between painting and drawing, and is consistently inspired by the power of the intuitive process. You’ll notice she frequently uses a limited palette to create an emotional atmosphere. Laura has built an impressive body of work that explores abstraction in terms of complex visual layering, each piece evolving through a process of constantly adding and erasing layers and marks.

As an engaged member in her local arts community, Laura is very active participating, exhibiting, contributing, and volunteering both her work and her expertise in many local fundraisers and workshops. She is very excited to have been commissioned to create a painting on the window front of 100 Christina; working on a large scale, this site-specific piece will allow her to create a complex, chaotic environment for people to engage in. Laura loves to inspire others, and hopes to provide her community with more opportunities to connect with the visual arts.
